What is MYSTgallery.com?

MYSTgallery.com is a simple website that will host creative, downloadable content such as wallpapers and screen savers from Cyan's MYST series. As time permits, other sections may be added to enrich browsing experiences.

History

In March of 2004 I joined the staff of D'ni Explorers Guild (www.uruexplorers.com). The site creator, Deg, was gracious in creating a downloads section where I began to post wallpapers and screen savers relating to URU. As the cavern closed and URU grew quiet, so did the site.

The desire of creating my own site where creative content could be posted was constantly in the back of my mind, but for one reason or another it continually was put off. In the interim I began posting a monthly calendar wallpaper on the blog (http://uruexplorer.blogspot.com) and announced those postings in the Creativity section of the mystonline forums (http://mystonline.com/forums/). That sufficed for some time but the site lacked the ability to post screen savers.

Although I've owned this domain for almost a year, family and job commitments have limited my time in moving it forward. There is wisdom in the D'ni proverb:

Every journey is simply a series of steps,

but the first step is not always simple.

Well, today is the first step in getting the site up. It will take some time to get it to where I'd like it to be so I hope you will all be patient.

Most importantly, I hope you enjoy what you find here. Deg once told me that "MYST fans are simply the best," and I have to say he was spot on. I've enjoyed my associations with many of you and hope those friendships will grow and new ones are created as the site moves forward.
